  • Does that mean someone is using a mobile device to mine? Arm is typically in Androids and alot of different tablets.

    @Lenore Exactly that. ARM is also the architecture for boards like Raspberry Pi, Banana Pi and many more.

  • Has anyone tried setting up a Raspberry Pi with some storage to see if it is quick enough to forge/mint Burst?

    Well, I setup a Banana Pi (M1 - oldest version) with urays miner and it reads 1 TB plots in 12 seconds! So 4 TB are possible in 48 seconds.

    The newer raspberry 2 has 4 cores that are faster or the newest Banana Pi (M3) has 8 cores.... so there is much potential.

    Problem is that my port of urays miner for ARM is flawed... it reads the plots but calculates something wrong... Deadline is way to high (corrupted). I'm trying to find a solution or someone more clever.

  • @daWallet
    I do also get this problem. The lowest plot it reads, is something like 1242 years. It's mining on 1 TB, on the same plots on my pc I get deadlines around 14-7 days.
    I would like to hear your solution, in case you find one.

  • @daWallet I would love it if we can come up with a solution for the Pi's. I have a Pi that I am setting up for some ASIC mining, but Burst is making more and more sense to me as I go along here. If we could get a Pi able to do Burst that would be quite exciting! I was worried the Pi's reliance on USB 2 would kill it's ability to effectively forge Burst, but it sounds like your results are showing that wouldn't be an issue. I hope we can get this to work! I have not looked at the Banana Pi, I will have to check that out!

  • This definitely has quite a bit of potential for us to promote in the way of GREEN MINING. Think of it.

    I think I will try setting something up just for fun here soon. I am soon to be having much more cash available for random things. Very excited about that.

    This is something we need to stay up on for sure.

    @Longsnowsm

    here are the binaries... I tested it with bananaPi. It should work for you.
    Tell me your results!
