<![CDATA[I think i am stuck on "Downloading blockchain" How long is it supossed to take?]]>currently the sync process is quite long, but we're working on multithreading the coin. In fact, I believe they've already sped it up about 10 times for the next release. But for now, we have download links that you can find here on the forum, that will allow you to download the chain directly. I'm sure @haitch can help with this.

<![CDATA[Mining on Dev Pool v2 - shares not showing]]>You can use your solo-plots on every pool.
Just set 'reward assignment' to the pool of your choice, or back to you for solo again.

<![CDATA[Disk failure]]>@dmp1ce I was originally looking to create very large, fully optimized plot files to minimize the mining time. However I had problems trying to plot a 16TB plot file, so reverted to smaller ones (~4TB), but I didn't bother re-configuring the ZFS layout. In hindsight I should have, but I'm not going to replot it all.

<![CDATA[An unused storage Rack with almost 150 TB ?]]>The NetApp Storage Appliance is a SAN, optimized for running as a huge raid. You could potentially setup a LUN per disk and then treat them as individual disks (I'm not familiar enough with the NetApp to say if this is definitely doable - some of the appliances virtualize the storage in such a way that multiple small LUN's might be counter-productive), but I'd use it to present one of more large LUNs.

Depending on the appliance it's probably either Fiber Channel or iSCSI, so you'll need a PC (preferably) running a Server OS to do the actual Plotting/Mining. It's not the most straight forward setup, but entirely doable - my primary miner is a Windows Server VM on an HP Workstation running VMware linked to a Solaris ZFS server over Infiniband.

If you need any help getting this setup, feel free to ask.

H.

<![CDATA[Moved more Mining stuff from BTT - Linux questions about VPS]]>Yea, the problem is how little space you have plotted...

I was just looking today on eBay, and you can get an external 8TB drive for only 220 USD... ridiculous. I almost bought one out of principle!

But the good thing too, is that HDDs have great resell value, so even if you buy it and decide you hate BURST, you can always resell for almost the same as what you paid.

I'm thinking I'll pick up one regardless.

But yea, you'll not show on the list until you submit a deadline that shows up... which with such a small amount of plotted space, could take quite some time.

So my suggestion would definitely be to get more space to plot! :)

<![CDATA[Having some issues mining]]>Hi there!
It's only been a couple days since i've found burst and I have to admit I am completely fascinated by it.
But that's beside the point.

I'm using the burst windows client and i'm mining on burst.ninja. I only allocated about 251Gb just to test it.
Now it's up and running all good so far but then I get this time after time

{"errorCode":1004,"errorDescription":"Your Burst account's reward recipient (BHZ
D-RULD-VY6L-HLPDY) does not match pool's account (7CPJ-BW8N-U4XF-CWW3U)"}

Now i've changed my reward assignment and such but it just won't do... I've tried multiple times but now it's just good 'ol broke me.

Another thing (small detail) when I want to set reward assignment through the burst windows client through "start mining" "change" I get forwarded to a "The webpage cannot be found HTTP 404" this looked strange to me but okay I had to set the reward so I just changed it through http://127.0.0.1:8125/rewardassignment.html

If you have any idea on how to help me let me know i'll keep an eye on this post and on the messaging
Greeting BErocked!

<![CDATA[Is it worth it to give 5TB space?]]>Might work out well. If you were going to offer it for .25. I know you can buy an HDD for less the .10 a gig. If you can stay under the average per gig it woukd bring you more I would guess.

How much space do you plan on haveing to offer total?
